ego lite
ego (lite) is a browser for AI agents that lets your existing assistant work inside websites you are already signed into. Built on Chromium, it provides separate workspaces for your browsing and the agent's tasks.
The browser connects to compatible agents through its ego-browser skill. You give instructions through your agent, which can then read pages, fill forms, follow links and collect information. The browser supplies access to websites; the connected agent supplies the reasoning.
Work with your existing browser sessions
During onboarding, you can import Chrome profiles, bookmarks, extensions, cookies and login sessions. This lets an agent work with internal dashboards and account pages without starting from an empty browser session each time.
Tasks run in separate Spaces, so an agent can research a topic or work through a form while you continue browsing elsewhere. You can switch into its Space to follow progress or help with a login or verification request. Separate workspaces prevent tab interference, but they do not remove the need to control what an agent is allowed to do.
Key features
- Shared login sessions: Let compatible agents use websites you have signed into.
- Parallel task Spaces: Keep agent tasks organized separately from your own tabs.
- Browser automation skill: Connect agents capable of executing local shell commands.
- Semantic page snapshots: Give agents structured page information for identifying content and controls.
- Combined actions: Run multiple browser operations within a JavaScript workflow.
- Data collection and form filling: Support tasks such as reading tables, gathering research and entering information into business tools.
Availability and practical limits
ego (lite) is currently free for Mac, with Windows availability offered through a notification signup. Your chosen AI agent or model provider may charge separately. The broader ego personal assistant is a different product.
Because agents can act through authenticated accounts, use explicit approval steps for sending messages, changing records, making purchases or submitting forms. Local browser storage also does not guarantee that page content stays on your computer: a connected cloud agent may send information to its model provider.
